Hate crimes 2024

My latest analysis of the data, 2008-24. This year I have broken the data into three periods: Harper government, Trudeau government pre-pandemic, and Trudeau government post-pandemic and the ongoing increases save for anti-Muslim hate crimes post-pandemic.

    I am not faulting the data analysis, because this is how Statscan collects data. But Jewish is both an ethnicity and a religion. When I fill out forms, I have to use the “other” field to indicate this.

      Yes, it comes up as well in the census with respect to ethnic origin (I remember when Jedwad noting the sharp decrease in Jewish ethnic origin when in dropped from the top 50 listed). Likely lots of crossover between anti-jewish ethnic hate and anti-jewish religious hate.
