…Le degré d’arrogance de ce plan unilatéral, qui rompt avec la position américaine historique visant la création d’un État palestinien véritable, est spectaculaire. Mais c’est bien plus qu’arrogant. C’est une violation du droit international aux accents criminels.
Car même s’il présente cela comme une simple rénovation de club de golf, c’est une déportation et un accaparement de territoire que propose le président des États-Unis. La déportation pure et simple d’un peuple et sa dispersion on ne sait trop où, ce qui est évidemment contraire aux conventions de Genève.
Au fait, par quel traité, par quel contrat, par quel décret un État peut-il devenir « propriétaire à long terme » d’un territoire habité par deux millions de personnes ?
Car oui, les conditions de vie à Gaza sous embargo sont terribles, et elles ont été rendues inhumaines par les bombardements israéliens.
Mais ce n’est pas de reconstruire et de rendre viable ce territoire pour ses habitants sans le Hamas que propose Donald Trump. C’est une colonisation sur invitation israélienne. Un projet où, par magie, le terrorisme aurait disparu au profit du tourisme.
Ce projet de déracinement qui ne repose sur aucune consultation, aucune acceptation, ne peut évidemment pas être un plan de paix.
Mais cette proposition est conforme à la vision de Donald Trump, où les souverainetés peuvent être redessinées dans le bureau du président des États-Unis, un 51e État ajouté, la carte du monde remodelée comme on décide de placer le 18e trou d’un terrain de golf à gauche ou à droite.
Tout ça, évidemment, sans demander leur avis aux principaux intéressés.
Cette « idée » unilatérale a le potentiel de martyriser un peuple sans cesse pris en otage. Loin de préparer la paix, elle peut au contraire être le point de départ d’autres conflits armés, d’autres morts, d’autres souffrances.

This unilateral “idea” has the potential to martyr a people constantly taken hostage. Far from preparing peace, it can on the contrary be the starting point of other armed conflicts, other deaths, other suffering.
